On 7th/October/2023, a horrifying incident occurred near the Gaza Strip during the SuperNova Music Festival, near Kibbutz Re’im. One victim, Gal Abdush, a 34-year-old mother of two, was found with severe injuries and burns. The investigation revealed a disturbing pattern of gender-based violence against women and Jews that day.
However, the footages related to Gal’s murder were not covered live but taken the next day, on 8th/October/2023, covering the havoc and damages caused by the Jihadis’ attack. Gal’s lower body was exposed as she was half-undressed, with her black dress torn. Authorities believed she had suffered physical assault and mutilated before being murdered and set on fire. The inquiry employed photographs, GPS data, video footage, and interviews with over 150 individuals, including witnesses, medical staff, soldiers, and assault counsellors. Gal Abdush attended the festival with her husband, Nagi Abdush, whose badly burned body was identified through DNA testing days later. According to witnesses and the investigation, a group of assailants attacked Gal near Highway 232.
Several Jihadis arrived in a white car. They stopped Gul and grabbed her straight so that she could not make any movement. They undressed her and started physically assaulting her. Gal was passed on to other Jihadis, one after the other, in dozens of counts, who also physically mutilated her. The witness vividly remembered the victim’s screams during the assault.
Later, the Jihadis brutally murdered her. The details of how the Jihadis had murdered were not disclosed. Gal’s body was found by one of her friends, who was searching for her while she recorded a video. Gal was found lying on the road. Lahav 433 discovered 30+ female victims with signs of physical assault and bullet wounds in their explicit body parts, lying with legs wide spread and clothes off.
As Jewish tradition requires the dead body to be cremated immediately after the death, several bodies were not sent for postmortem. It suggested that Gal Abdush Black Dress murder wasn’t an isolated event, but thousands of female Israelites had suffered.
