Who was Floyd?

George Floyd was a 46-year-old man use to live in Houston who lost his job in the restaurant due to the world-wide crisis of coronavirus. He was the known activist and peacemaker respected by the many people, and politicians who use take advice for the betterment of the countrymen worked a lot for the people and their justice. 

Floyd was the father of a 6-year-old girl and a brother who have responsibilities of the family. He shifted to Minneapolis away from family and friends in search of a better job to feed the family. And overcome the problem that they are facing due to lack of resources in the time of COVID-19. 

What happened that day?

On 25 May 2020, George Floyd was killed by the police officer, Derek Chauvin, and any three other policemen in daylight. They killed Floyd by dragging him out of the car and choked him for around nine minutes. Although he begged several times that he is not able to breathe, officers did not leave any chance for him to live. 

The surrounded people recorded the whole video of the incident and circulated with the help of social media. The viral video of the murder spread like a fire, and many questions rose against the police.

The Justice for Big Floyd is the significant protest people are rasing voice. Derek Chauvin was suspended by the seniors and charged for the murder, but the judgment is incomplete.

Protest for justice

The Justice for Big Floyd leads to the protest that started on 26 May 2020. The protest spread all over the country that includes four hundred cities in the country. Many of the people filed a petition for the demonstration that may lead to justice.

It has been noticed that American police encounter many people, which includes 90% of black Africans no such action used to file against them. The main reason behind this was the institutional racism against African Americans. On day one of the protest, hundreds of people marched for justice to show their frustration towards police behavior for black people. 

Day 2 leads to firing by the police wearing a mask and releasing the gas to remove people from creating and blocking roads. 

Day 3, the state emergency was declared, but the protest did not stop the people in the whole country filing such a petition.

Derek Chauvin charged for third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter on 29 May 2020, and though his wife filed a divorce with such an insensitive man. 

The prime minister tweeted that he would send the military if the government couldn’t handle the situation anymore. The protest continues for the justice of Big Floyd and his family.
