According to the Twitter post by Goury Acharya, Neel Acharya was last seen by an Uber driver who dropped Neel off on the college campus of Purdue University. After that, no more information was available for the Purdue Student Missing 2024 case. Neel Acharya had been missing since 12:30 am EST.
Who was Neel Acharya?
According to the LinkedIn account of Neel Acharya, he completed his schooling in Pune, India, and in 2022, he joined Purdue University. Chris Clifton, the interim head of the computer science department of Purdue University, informed other students about the death of Neel Acharya via sending emails to other students. According to the email of Chris Clifton, Neel Acharya was a double major in computer science and data science.

Is the Purdue University Missing Student case the only case that happened to an Indian student?
Unfortunately not. Just before the death of Neel Acharya was reported, footage of an Indian student being killed by a homeless man went viral on social media. The name of the victim was Vivek Saini. He was a student of MBA in Lithonia, Georgia. He was also a part-time worker at a convenience store.
The convenience store where Vivek Saini worked sheltered a homeless man named Julian Faulkner. With the Purdue University Missing Student case, the murder case of Vivek Saini also went viral on social media platforms. Vivek reportedly gave water, chips, and a jacket to that homeless man.
However, on 16 January 2024, Vivek Saini refused to provide free food to Julian Faulkner. Julian became angry because of this gesture of Vivek and continuously hit Vivek Saini with a hammer. The Consulate General of India in Atlanta felt sorry for this mishap and sent the mortal remains of Vivek Saini back to India.
